Great NorthWest FCU to Open New Branch
Great NorthWest Federal Credit Union is set to lease space and open a branch inside Walmart in Chehalis, WA.
Great NorthWest Federal Credit Union was chartered in April, 1953 as Shafer Mill Employees Credit union, later merging with Weyerhaeuser Employees’ Credit Union and changing their name to Twin Harbors Credit Union. In 2000, they changed their name to Great NorthWest Federal Credit Union.
Great NorthWest Federal Credit Union presently has 4 branch locations in Aberdeen, Raymond, Long Beach and Ocean Park. With a membership base of over 16,000, the growth of the credit union over the last several years has sparked an expansion to their Field of Membership. Previously, accepting members from Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties, the updated Field of Membership allows the credit union to provide services to those in Lewis, Mason and Wahkiakum counties.
“Ultimately, this new location is about convenience for existing and prospective members” said Doug Page, President/CEO of Great NorthWest FCU. “We have relationships with many members in Lewis County and soon they’ll have a branch that will satisfy their banking and retail needs in one convenient location.”
The branch is being designed using the services of The Element Group, Portsmouth, NH. William Foley and Nate Baldasaro founders of Element echoed “Smaller branch footprints in retail environments with today’s technology and digital engagement is a game changer. We’re looking forward to designing and delivering an engaging branch for Great NorthWest FCU.”
The branch is scheduled to be open six days a week with evening hours. The new site is located in Walmart: 1601 NW Louisiana Ave, Chehalis, WA 98532. Great NorthWest FCU’s ATM will be available 24 hours a day.
Construction will begin in the coming weeks with a prospective opening in April or May.
