Skip a Payment Promo Raises $7k for Cancer Society

As many of you may know, Great NorthWest Federal Credit Union’s annual holiday skip-a-payment promotion typically takes place in November and December. In recent years, we have added a summer skip promotion.

Our Skip-a-Payment program allows members with eligible loans to modify their loan payment due date to extend it one month. The program frees up funds for members to use for other necessities instead of making their loan payment.

The Skip-a-Payment promotion includes a $25 fee to process the skip on the loan. $5.00 of this skip fee is donated to the credit union’s Grays Harbor Relay For Life team. During November-December, 2020, we raised over $7,000 for our Relay For Life team, processing over 1,400 skips.

We are hopeful that 2021 will allow us to participate in a wonderful, in-person relay again. In 2020, we were able to take part in the drive-thru GH Cancer Relay and donated $5,600.
